Question 1

Is MyAutoLog better than CARFAX Car Care?

Accepted Answer

For most drivers, yes. MyAutoLog is a beautifully designed all-in-one maintenance app — service history (shop and DIY), reminders by date or mileage, fuel and EV charging logs, costs, documents with expiry alerts, PDF export and an AI assistant. CARFAX Car Care is better only if all your service happens at participating shops and you just want automatic history and recall alerts.

Question 2

What is the best alternative to CARFAX Car Care?

Accepted Answer

MyAutoLog is the best CARFAX Car Care alternative for anyone who does their own maintenance, uses independent mechanics, or wants fuel, cost and document tracking in a modern, polished app. It's available on iPhone and Android and is free to start.

Question 3

Is CARFAX Car Care really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes, CARFAX Car Care is free to use and supports up to eight vehicles, but it requires a CARFAX account and is available in the US and Canada only.

Question 4

Is MyAutoLog free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. MyAutoLog is free to download and use with one vehicle. MyAutoLog Pro adds more vehicles, PDF export of your service records, and more.

Question 5

Does CARFAX Car Care track DIY maintenance?

Accepted Answer

You can enter some records manually, but CARFAX Car Care is designed around history reported by participating shops. MyAutoLog is built for logging DIY work, with presets, receipt photos and mileage-based reminders.

Question 6

Can I import my CARFAX history into MyAutoLog?

Accepted Answer

Yes. On request, the MyAutoLog support team can import your existing data from other apps for you. You can also back-fill past services yourself in a few minutes using the dates, mileage and costs shown in your CARFAX history.

Question 7

Which app is better for selling my car?

Accepted Answer

MyAutoLog, if you've done any work yourself. Its PDF export includes DIY jobs, receipts and costs — records that won't appear in shop-reported CARFAX history.
